In March, we will be holding elections for a new Adjunct Representative to the Academic Senate. This is a two-year term, running from Fall 2025 to Spring 2027. With Mike’s term ending in May, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role and work alongside me in representing adjunct faculty interests.
Senate representatives are compensated for their time, and it’s a great way to engage with the broader faculty community. If you’re interested, consider attending a Senate meeting to see how things work!
Academic Senate Meetings:
- When: Second and fourth Thursdays of each month
- Time: 12:30 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.
- Where: Cravens Student Support Center & Zoom
- Next Meeting: Thursday, February 13th
Adjunct Subcommittee Meetings: Your Voice Matters!
The Adjunct Subcommittee is a vital space for Senate Subcommittee Adjunct reps and the two Adjunct Senate reps to discuss committee updates, share insights, and collaborate on key issues. These meetings are open to ALL adjuncts, making them a great opportunity to engage and stay informed.
Adjunct Subcommittee Meetings:

Paid Opportunities for Adjuncts: Get Involved and Get Paid!
Many adjuncts are looking for additional paid opportunities at COD, and one of the best ways to earn extra pay while making an impact is by joining hiring committees. These committees always include at least one adjunct representative, providing an excellent way to participate in faculty selection and gain valuable experience.
Keep an eye on your email for hiring committee openings, and if your schedule allows, consider applying for a position on one!
We’re Here to Help!
If you have any questions about Senate, subcommittees, or getting involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mike or me. We’re here to support you and make sure your voice is heard.
Looking forward to an exciting and productive semester!
