The College of the Desert Adjunct Association (CODAA) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Judith Mandell Award and David Bashore Award—two honors recognizing outstanding dedication to the success of part-time faculty.
Judith Mandell Award – Larry Moeller, Jr.
The Judith Mandell Award is presented annually to a College of the Desert employee who has demonstrated compassionate and consistent support for adjunct faculty.
This year’s recipient, Larry Moeller, Jr., has been a remarkable advocate for part-time faculty. In his previous role, he worked to improve adjunct compensation in practical and impactful ways. Now, as a vital member of the Institutional Research team, Larry continues to empower adjuncts by helping them understand and apply data to enhance their performance and success in the classroom.

David Bashore Award – Tony Aguilar
The David Bashore Award is presented to a CSEA Unit Member or Confidential Employee who has advanced the technological connection between adjunct faculty and their students, the college, and one another.
This year, CODAA proudly honors Tony Aguilar for his exceptional work on the Distance Education Team. Tony has gone above and beyond in supporting adjuncts—whether solving complex tech issues, offering personalized training, or ensuring smooth delivery of online instruction. His patience, generosity, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the teaching experience of countless faculty members.
